Senior year is winding down, and there are a few things students still need to do this spring and summer before the fun begins in college. College Visit Opportunities for Seniors & Juniors:

  

 

Junior/Seniors- If you would like to get an excused day to visit a college, you must pick up a form in the counselor's office and get is signed by your teachers 2 days prior to your schedule college visit. Keep this form and return it to Mrs. Kathi Irwin, along with a letter from the college stating that you were on their campus in order to get the day excused.

 

 Fall/Spring Days- Visit the website of the college that you are interested in attending. Most colleges offer special fall dates and spring dates for interested students to come visit their campus

 

 

Leadership Opportunities:

 

WELead- Summer Leadership Conference at MSU- for current sophomore and junior girls- July 16-20 Deadline: April 25, 2018

 

G.I.R.L.S. Talk- Grow Imagine Respect Lead- June 2, 2018, 9am-3:30pm at the Bancorp South Conference Center-Event is free- limited space- first come, first serve- register early.

 

Kaleidoscope National Leadership Conference -(9th-12th Girls) July 5-8

 

Mississippi Governors School- (Sophomores & Juniors)- a three-week residential collegiate experience that blends cultural, academic, social, and recreational components into a rich and natural learning environment. Deadline to appy for the summer program is typically in December.

 

 

Boys State-  Applications can be picked up in the counselor's office. Return completed application to the counselor by April 20, 2018.  The local American Legion sponsors/covers the registration fee for our boys who want to attend.
